I wake up to a another restless Sunday morning with no Sunny Almond Nespresso coffee in my hand. (If you have no clue what I’m referring to then be sure to read my last post). It’s gloomy outdoors today. I’m not sure if today is the type of day to relax or reflect because quite frankly, I find reflecting to be a bit of a task sometimes. It’s great to have a moment to unpack the last week and set new and positive intentions for the week to come, but some days I just want to turn off my brain and rest.
Yet, I don’t think I know what rest means and I don’t think my brain has an off button. So, I’ve decided to reflect on a few things I’ve revisited or re-learned this past week and hope that they can help guide you in the weeks or years to come.
- Humans are more sensitive than I thought. Even the strongest have weak points, they just try to mask it as best as possible.
- A person’s time is the most valuable thing on Earth. Punctuality is one of the highest forms of respect and lateness is understandable if communicated with a valid reason. Keyword here is reason and not excuse.
- Uncertainty looms around us. It always has and it always will, but that does not mean we should live in fear. Fear consumes you, courage uplifts you.
- Being open minded is not the same as being open hearted. Sympathy is for the open minded and empathy is for the open hearted.
- Film is personal and reviews are subjective. Go watch something without reading up on online reviews.
- A journey has no specific path and no specific rules. Our journey’s will differ and that’s okay. We aren’t meant to walk the same path or face the same challenges and that is normal.
Now that I’ve got that all off my chest, I might go drink a coffee. Any life lessons you’ve come across lately and want to share? Feel free to comment below. I’ll share my decaffeinated reflections on a monthly basis so lookout for more in September.
Your everyday girl,
Sara
