Nespresso has become enemy #1…

The Sunny Almond Vanilla espresso pods at Nespresso are all gone. One of the staff members literally used the word, “disappeared” when referring to them as being out of stock. I wish you were there to see the appalled look on my face when I first got the news upon my entry into the store. It’s safe to say that I was not thrilled. I was literally in the store three weeks ago and bought a sleeve of the very delicious flavoured coffee and then fast forward to this past weekend and *POOF* the pods just vanished into thin air. I love the excitement behind seasonal products, but I hate how scarce they are. Can someone tell the Nespresso marketing team (and perhaps their operations/distribution/supply chain) that summer isn’t over just yet?

The sales associate gave us two free sleeves of the Iced Leggero and the Mexico pods. I mean okay, great, cool, thanks, but that doesn’t change things. Unlike the delicious Sunny Almond Vanilla coffee, the word “disappeared” just left a bad taste in my mouth, a bitter stab to the gut. I felt bad for my sister, she was confused with my irritation, but I couldn’t help myself, was I supposed to pretend like everything was okay? Trust me, I can usually keep myself calm, but I’ve been dealing with a whirlwind of emotions within the last few weeks and this coffee’s “disappearance” was the last straw.

I couldn’t leave the store all broken-hearted, so my sister and I did what anyone else would do and emptied the store’s stock of all the Iced Leggero pods, three beautiful boxes of coffee all for us. Take that, you Sunny-Almond-Vanilla-sucking-vampires! We did buy the Maple Pecan flavour and sadly, it wouldn’t even win bronze at the Nespresso Olympics.

I will never forget the moments of pure bliss while drinking the Sunny Almond Vanilla coffee ice cold. I’ll have to wait until next year to relive that feeling again, thanks Nespresso, you sure know how to tease.

Sara

P.S Here’s a fun collage I made to celebrate the times when Nespresso didn’t betray me.

  3. Nespresso and I are good but I have beef with Simons – Your Everyday Girl Avatar

[…] It wasn’t the day that hurt me and It wasn’t my coffee. Nespresso has my back with Nola, a new iced coffee blend in collaboration with Blue Bottle. It was in stock today and I think Nespresso is trying it’s best to ensure my happiness. I don’t think I’ve had any issues with stock since my last post when I complained about the disappearance of the Sunny Almond Vanilla pods. […]
